Beschreibung

“…small, quick, safe… almost a Ferrari.” Eager to cash in on the success of the 911, but fearing a non twelve cylinder car would dilute the Ferrari brand, Enzo took the decision to name his six cylinder model after his tragically deceased Son. A total of 153 examples would be built from 1968, until its successor, the 246 GT would be released in 1969. Despite looking near identical to the untrained eye, the early car is smaller in every way, and features extensive use of aluminium in the body, as well as an alloy engine block. The Dino brand would eventually be retired in favour of the standard Ferrari name in 1976. This example, Chassis 00260, was produced in 1968, and delivered to its owner in January of 1969 by Crepaldi Automobili of Milano. In the late 2000’s its original owner commissioned Ferrari to have the car fully restored and Classiche Certified. As a testament to the work carried out, it was then on display at the Museo Ferrari before it changed hands. Presented in its original combination of Blu Dino Metallizzato, over Pelle Nera 161 interior, the car can only be described as being in concours condition.
