The adventure of this incredible car started in 1963 in Milwaukee/USA. At the time, Brook Stevens worked mainly as a designer for Studebaker, who by that time were already on the brink of bankruptcy. Sherwood Egbert, Studebaker’s chairman at the time, commissioned Brook Stevens to build a number of extraordinary show cars to revitalise the marque’s image and attract new customers.
The American designer took his inspiration form the 1928 Mercedes-Benz SSK for his first concept car.
