Beschreibung

Known as the first car produced and used by the Elva team for international competitions.
Significant racing history.
In 1955, it competed in the Tourist Trophy at Dunrod with official Elva drivers Robbie Mackenzie-Low and Dick Manwaring.
During the race, the car suffered a brutal accident in which driver Dick Manwaring lost his life.
The remains of the car were purchased by driver Chris Warman, who restored the damaged original chassis and fitted it with a new, more aerodynamic aluminium body resembling the MK1 B model in production at the time (1956/1958) and raced in England such as Brands Hatch in 1957 and 1958.
Prestigious, high-performance Coventry Climax engine.
The car underwent a major and meticulously documented restoration that lasted 5 years, from 1989 to 1994.
After restoration the car was used in UK and international competitions such as VSCC Richard Seaman & Ron Flockhart Trophy Meeting in 2000, The Shuttleworth and Nuffield Meeting in 2000, Liège–Rome–Liège in 2002 and Goodwood Revival in 2003.
There are numerous historical events and regularity races in which the car has taken part in recent years. These include the Coppa D’oro delle Dolomiti, the Vernasca Silver Flag, the Piancavallo revival, the Rallye di Lignano and the Histria Classic in Croatia.

In recent years the car has been professionally maintained by adjusting the braking system, carburettor and gearbox.

The car has not been started for a few years (it was stored 4 years ago in perfect working order with no work to be carried out) so a general overhaul and re-start will be required.

The car has Italian number plates and documents that allow it to be driven legally on the road.

Car with FIVA and ASI certification.
