Beschreibung

"The Dodge Wayfarer was produced by Dodge from February 1949 until 1952. It was discontinued without a replacement in the United States, although the Kingsway series remained available in export markets. The Wayfarer was the first true Roadster built by the Big Three since the 1930s. However, the Roadster concept was soon altered to the plusher Sportabout as higher comfort levels were demanded by the post-war auto buyers. 9325 Roadsters and Sportabouts were built, out of a total of 217,623 Wayfarers of all body styles.According to records, this Dodge was first registered in the UK in July 2017 when it is believed our vendor purchased it from a UK auction for the sum of £22,400. Offered as part of a deceased estate, this example is presented in Air Cruiser Red with contrasting beige trim, and still presents as a restored car to this day. According to multiple sources this car was imported from Canada where it was listed as a multiple trophy winner at classic car shows and was subject to a full restoration in 2011. A very handsome example of the Wayfarer, it features a very good mohair hood with a 3.8 litre powerplant. The paperwork accompanying the car is comprehensive and includes a full vehicle appraisal from after the restoration in 2011 and highlights that this car was the first of a three-year production run of Roadsters. This is a very pretty and desirable example, an older restoration of a very rare and desirable Wayfarer.Guide Price £18,000 - £22,000
