This is a perfect 2019 restoration DKW in the original metallic diamond blue that was only available for a short period of time. This car is a so-called SKD kit. The drive train was made in Düsseldorf and exported to the Netherlands on the 26th November 1958. Importer, Nibbrig & Greeve in Sassenheim, further assembled the car, attracting a significant tax advantage. The car was then registered for the first time in Belgium. In 2019 a professional DKW specialist undertook a very thorough restoration, using where necessary original DKW parts. The bodywork and chassis where separated during the process. The 893cc engine was completely rebuilt with new crankshaft, new pistons and new needle bearings. The petrol tank has also been taken apart, cleaned and treated on the in and outside with a protective coating. The interior trim has also been completely replaced. The tyres are new. Of particular interest are the F93’s metal dashboard and the pristine original rubber mats as well as the boots’ distinctive decorative strips. The car document confirms the fact that the bodywork and chassis do match. Since the restoration only the car was carefully driven for 2000km, allowing for fine-tuning where necessary. This DKW is fully ready to go. The coupe’s driving properties are fantastic and good for many years of carefree motoring. Porsche wind tunnels were used in the design, creating a lovely sculpted line. This restored DKW is in such good condition; it could have left the factory yesterday
