With 26 World Rally Championship victories between 2011 and 2016, the Citroën DS 3 WRC marked the generation of World Rally Cars 1600 Turbo. The specimen we present here is quite simply the most successful of all DS 3 WRCs. Driven by Sébastien Loeb in the Citroën Total Abu Dhabi World Rally Team, the chassis n°17 took part in 32 rallies between 2012 and 2016 with 11 wins and a total of 16 podiums for only 4 retirements. At the end of its exceptional career, this DS 3 will have won no less than 80 special stages! At its debut in 2012, the chassis n°17 driven by the famous Loeb - Elena duo won 6 rallies and will offer him the 9th and last World Championship crown. Still committed for the 2013 season, our DS 3 WRC will be shared between Sébastien Loeb and the Spanish driver Dani Sordo. It will sign 3 new victories, 2 with Loeb (Monte Carlo and Rally of Argentina) and the Rally of Germany in the hands of the duet Sordo - Del Barrio. Still owned by the Citroën Total Abu Dhabi World Rally Team, our car will take part in the 2014 and 2015 seasons before making its last WRC appearances in 2016, when it will be entered by the privately-owned Abu Dhabi Total World Rally Team. Although entered for its fifth consecutive season, the chassis n°17 remains competitive and will win its final rally in 2016, the Portugal Rally, in the hands of Kris Meeke. This exceptional track record makes it an absolutely unrivalled competition car, which is why a renowned French private team will acquire it at the end of his sporting career.
Equipped with a 1600 cm3 Citroën Racing engine, with direct injection, the DS 3 WRC develops 300 horsepower at 6,000 rpm for a delirious 188 hp per liter! The 6-speed sequential gearbox is coupled to a four-wheel drive.
This Citroën DS 3 WRC chassis n°17 is now in its 2013 French Rally livery and in perfect working order.

This car will be sold by auction by AGUTTES Auction House, in Sochaux, at the Aventure Peugeot Museum, France, on September the 20th, 2020.
