Shortly after Peugeot acquired a stake in the chevron brand, regular customers feared that the Citroën identity would disappear. When the BX was presented to the general public in 1982, fans were relieved to see the brand's originality and DNA preserved. Thanks to an excellent commercial launch, Citroën quickly planned to expand the range and in 1985 offered the BX Sport, which was finally produced in 7572 units. Visually, it is distinguished by its specific shields, its spoiler grafted to the trunk, its 14-inch aluminium rims and its underbody and wing wideners. On the mechanical side, the 1.9l engine prepared by Danielson develops 126 horsepower and will allow the BX Sport to use the familiar 200 km/h. A great feat for the time, well before the introduction on the market of its main rivals, the R21 Turbo and the Peugeot 405 Mi16.
The BX Sport we are presenting was sold new on July 18, 1985 by the Bernard garage in Carpentras. Retained by its first owner until 2008, it will then pass through two Citroën garages before its current owner takes possession of it in 2015. With just under 42,500 km on the clock, which is certainly its original mileage, our BX Sport is in very good overall condition. Its paint has a beautiful shine and its Morette lights give it a resolutely sporty look. Inside the upholstery is very well preserved, as is the dashboard, which has a very beautiful appearance. Accompanied by its maintenance booklet, user manuals and red bar, our BX Sport is now presented at an attractive price. It is therefore a great opportunity for all those who are nostalgic for the 1980s.
