Beschreibung

William I'Anson Ltd are pleased to offer for sale this lovely FIA Specification, 1957 Austin Healey 100/6 which competed in Modsports in the late 1960's and 70's.

Originally registered as a road-going Austin Healey 100/6 with chassis BN4 04748, the car was converted for Modsports racing in the late 1960s, early 1970s. R.H. Lister and Derek C. May modified it extensively and painted the car orange with a black hardtop until an incident at Castle Combe around 1973.

Purchased from J.K. Palmer by Colin Singleton in 1987, still in it’s Mod-sports specification after years without use, Singleton restored the car to its HSCC specification and achieved success in the Top Gear British Heritage Championship and the Austin-Healey Club’s Race Championship.

Equipped with a 3.0-litre straight-six race engine with triple Weber carburettors , an upgraded gearbox with a Quaife limited-slip differential, 888 DTB has undergone continuous development over its racing career, including a recent race preparation by OC Racing, replacing the fuel and brake lines.

Remaining highly competitive and eligible in FIA specifications, this car is eligible for prestigious historic motorsport events such as GTSCC, Motor Racing Legends, Peter Auto as well as tours and rallies that include the Tour Auto and Modena Centro Ore.
