History would repeat itself as the Z07 concept, introduced at the 1997 Tokyo Motor Show, eventually becoming BMW's revival of the timeless 507 of the 1950s as the all-new Z8. This groundbreaking BMW would live on as one the most successful examples of the "retro-futurism" aesthetic that would captivate the automotive design industry at the turn of the 21st century. The flamboyant yet vintage exterior was the work of prolific designer Henrik Fisker, who did not stray far from his initial concept in the design of the production BMW Z8. Equally impressive was Fisker's ability to reinterpret the 507's artful interior into a modern cockpit, with a banjo-style steering wheel, a central instrument pod, brushed aluminum switchgear, and a body-color panel running the full width of the dashboard.

The BMW Z8 boasted the latest performance technology from BMW's revered M division. Its sensuous bodywork and spaceframe chassis were comprised of lightweight aluminum, as were many of the suspension components including its coil-over front and multi-link rear systems. The Z8's beating heart was the 394-horsepower, 4.9-liter V8 from the scorching BMW M5 sedan, allowing a skilled driver rowing through the six-speed manual transmission to achieve zero to 60 miles per hour in 4.5 seconds. Best of all, the V8's intoxicating exhaust note could be fully enjoyed thanks to its power-retractable soft top or removable body-color hardtop. Combined with its generous standard equipment including power seats, a Harman Kardon sound system, and ample storage space, the Z8 was the sophisticated touring sports car for the 21st century.

This particular Z8 wears the highly popular livery of Titanium Silver Metallic exterior over Black Leather interior and boasts the coveted 20-inch Alpina split-spoke style wheels adding an extra level of sportiness and eye-appeal. When the black convertible top is not quite appropriate for the conditions, the heated seats can be activated, and the accompanying hardtop is available in its matching Titanium Silver. The CARFAX Vehicle History Report reveals that it was originally purchased at Elmhurst BMW in Illinois and then faithfully serviced for the first 20,000 miles at BMW of Orland Park Illinois. Offered with over 38,000 miles at time of cataloging, this Z8 with its potent V8 and engaging six-speed manual transmission is primed for enjoyment on quick, twisty roads with the top down. It is offered with factory delivery accessories including its tools, owner's manuals, first aid kit, exterior car cover, and more.
