This significant factory-supported BMW was campaigned with great success in the BMW Motorrad BoxerCup series from 2002 through 2004. Hosted by BMW AG in partnership with Dorna Sports S.L., the series was comprised of 48 riders competing with race-modified four-stroke, boxer two-cylinder BMWs in support races alongside MotoGP and Superbike World Championships at premier international circuits.

Among the 34 teams from 11 countries, this motorcycle was prepared and campaigned by BMW Dream Car of Ravenna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy, led by Walter Visani and supported by BMW Motorrad Italia. Under the skilled piloting of BoxerCup veteran Roberto Panichi and carrying number 99, this motorcycle achieved remarkable success across its three-year competition career, securing multiple victories at several iconic circuits. The 2002 season saw a ninth-place championship finish highlighted by victory in the second round at Mugello. In 2003, the BMW achieved its highest championship position of third overall, dominating with wins at Daytona, Le Mans, Mugello, and Sachsenring. The final 2004 season brought a fourth-place championship finish, with victories at both Sachsenring and Brno.

After its illustrious racing career, this champion BMW was road-registered in Italy. The motorcycle comes complete with Italian registration documents and its original podium display, making it a compelling addition for collectors seeking a factory-supported racing motorcycle with proven international success and multiple victories at world-class circuits.
