About this Collectable

As heir to the M3 Coupé, the M4 is one of the most desirable modern BMWs. The CS is probably the ultimate version of the M4 F82, especially when finished in a special Individual color like this one: Frozen Dark Blue. A 2-year BMW Premium Selection warranty is included.

BMW first came up with a hardcore variant of the M4 in 2015: the M4 GTS. This version was spectacular, but less suitable as a daily driver. For example, it didn't have rear seats. In 2017 the M4 CS was introduced, which ended the 'in the past an M was still a real M' discussions.

The CS has been given a series of subtle and less subtle tweaks. For example, the CS has an extra 30 hp compared to the 'standard' M4 F82 (460 hp) and weighs 35 kg less. This is partly due to a carbon roof and bonnet. This not only makes the car weigh less, but also lowers the center of gravity.

The CS is also equipped with the Adaptive M suspension, M Driver's Package and many more extras. This specific BMW is also equipped with the optional carbon ceramic brakes. All in all, this results in a very complete fun package.

The M4 CS might be a bit more hardcore, but is fortunately still very usable as a daily driver. For example, you simply have rear seats, air conditioning and electrically adjustable seats. Not only that, this example is equipped with heated seats, Park Distance Control, a reversing camera and a head-up display.

This makes it a very special daily driver. This is also reflected in the looks, with an extra large powerdome in the bonnet, a carbon splitter, carbon spoiler and special rims (19-inch front, 20-inch rear). And then there's the colour. In principle, the CS was only available in four colours, but this one has been given a stunning Individual color: Frozen Dark Blue.

Only twenty were originally delivered in the Netherlands, of which this is one. The M4 CS first served as a press car for BMW Netherlands (hence the extensive options list) and has since had one private owner. The CS comes with a 2-year BMW Premium Selection warranty.

Our opinion

Press cars, we love them. They are fully loaded with all expensive options and often come in special colour combinations (Frozen Dark Blue, spectacular!). No, this is not the M4 from the AutoBlog & Autoweek videos (see the license plate). But we know from experience that they are serviced meticulously after every sleepover because after all, you don't want to risk negative press. If like in this case you can buy it with a 2-year warranty, you're all set for full enjoyment without any worries.

Apart from that, as a Collectable, BMW's CS series are already iconic. The M5 CS in 2021won just about all the international 'of the year' elections and the M4 CS was described by EVO Magazine as 'the best M4 Money can Buy'. We understand why.

Remarks

There are some minor signs of use, documented on thecollectables.nl:
A few superficial scratches on the rims
Small damage on the carbon side skirt at the driver's door
Last year the car received a detailing treatment inside and out at Swissvax Pro Studio in Breda, The Netherlands.

Service history

The car has always been maintained at the BMW dealership. The most important points from the recent maintenance history are:
July 27, 2021 - Renova BMW - 67,000 km: service.
December 11, 2020 - Renova BMW - 60,068 km: major service
Before delivery, the M4 CS will receive an full check and service by the BMW dealer, including new tires.
