Released on sale in the summer of 2016, the BMW M3 30 Jahre Edition was built to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the launch of the BMW M3 in 1986. Limited to 500 units worldwide, the 30 Jahre Edition was based on the M3 Competition variant, but almost all cars were finished in Macao Blue Metallic—a tribute to the very same colour that was an optional extra on the 1986 E30 M3. While the North American market was allocated 150 examples and had the choice of a six-speed manual gearbox or seven-speed DCT gearbox, European vehicles were only offered with the latter.

Ordered new by the consignor in 2016, this example is one of 500 M3 30 Jahre Editions built, and one of two delivered new to BMW Valence. Presented with full BMW service history, having last been serviced on 1 March 2022, this M3 has been driven sparingly, having covered just 7,964 kilometres at the time of cataloguing.
