Beschreibung
- Part of The Road and Track Collection
- One of just 600 M3 Sport Evolutions built by BMW
- Repainted in its factory-correct colour of Jet Black
- Retains its matching-numbers 2.5-litre S14 four-cylinder engine
Powered by an uprated 2.5-litre version of the M3’s S14 four-cylinder engine, the BMW M3 Sport Evolution was one of the lightest and most powerful production variants of the celebrated sports saloon. Limited to just 600 units, Sport Evolutions were equipped with an aerodynamic package that included an adjustable front splitter, rear wing, a wider front bumper opening and brake cooling ducts in place of foglamps.
Completed on 2 February 1990, this Sport Evolution was delivered new to BMW France sporting a Jet Black exterior over black leather. Registered two years later in April 1992, this M3 was purchased by the consignor in 2019 via a BMW dealer. This example has remained in France since leaving the factory, with a document on file detailing ownership changes from new.
After being acquired by the consignor, the car was taken to BMW Fourel Valence in April 2021, where a major mechanical recommissioning took place. Finished in September 2021, by May of the following year the decision had been taken to respray the bodywork in the factory-correct colour of Jet Black. The work was carried out by Carrosserie Pemeant, who also ceramic coated the freshly painted body. Presenting beautifully following recent restoration works, this rare and tastefully specified black-on-black M3 Sport Evolution has been found to retain its matching-numbers engine.
