Original Alpina „B2“ Motor

Ausgeliefert als einer der ersten 3.0 CSi, wurde er 1972 in der Schweiz von der Firma Monteverdi an seinen Erstbesitzer, einen Arzt aus Basel, übergeben.

1978 ließ er den Wagen von der Firma Alpina in Buchloe zum sogenannten „B2“ veredeln. Da Alpina zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch kein eigenständiger Hersteller war, gibt es im Firmenarchiv leider keine genauen Produktionszahlen der frühen Fahrzeuge.

Es wurden allerdings insgesamt nur 192 „B2“ Motoren gefertigt, welche dann auf BMWs der Typen E3, E9, E12 und E24 verteilt worden sind. Die Firma Alpina bestätigt, dass es sich bei dem Motor in unserem Fahrzeug um ein originales „B2“ Aggregat handelt. Vom B2 3.0 Coupé wurden wohl nur ca. 40 Exemplare gefertigt.

1993 verkaufte der Schweizer Arzt das Fahrzeug nach Deutschland. In den folgenden Jahren hatte es hier mehrere Besitzer. Zuletzt war der Alpina BMW Teil einer hochklassigen Sportwagensammlung in Bayern.

Der Wagen befindet sich in fantastischem Zustand. Er wurde vor einiger Zeit umfangreich überholt.

Es existieren einige Schriftwechsel der Vorbesitzer, die Historie ist gut dokumentiert.

Original Alpina „B2“ Engine

Supplied as one of the first 3.0 CSi, our car was handed to its first owner, a doctor from Basel, by the swiss company Moneteverdi in 1972.

In 1978, he let the company Alpina in Buchloe refine the car to the so called “B2”. Since Alpina wasn’t an independent carmaker back then, their archives unfortunately don’t list the production numbers of the early cars.

However, only 192 “B2” engines were ever produced and built into BMWs of the types E3, E9, E12 and E24. The company Alpina confirms, that the engine in our car is one of the original “B2” aggregates. Of the B2 3.0 Coupé, only about 40 cars were made in total.

In 1993, the swiss doctor sold the car to Germany. In the following years it had multiple owners here. Most recently it was part of a high class sportscar collection in Bavaria.

The car comes is phantastic condition. It was extensively overhauled some time ago.
