Beschreibung
The Graal, the Icon, the Bentley S1 high-performance Continental version, sporting the H.J.Mulliner & Co Fastback Sport Saloon fixed-head coupé body. Only about 120 of these marvelous machines were ever made.
As the name suggests, the car was designed for Continental touring and so has a higher ratio back axle for high speed driving and has the petrol filler on the off side.
“To build a good car, a fast car, the best in its class.” Walter Owen Bentley
A streamlined aluminium body. Connolly hide and veneered woodwork. Four speed automatic gearbox, Power Steering, 6 cylinder in-line engine, 4.9 litres displacement, servo-assisted brakes.
It ensured maximum performance and was frequently requested by demanding sporting ladies and gentlemen.
721GUV has been the pride and joy for over half a century of Mrs. Royce and her father. Provenance hardly comes any better than this. Opportunities to buy a low ownership Fastback in impeccable condition do not come along often.
We are delighted to present you this stunning and very well presented example of the 1957 Bentley S1 Continental Fastback by H.J. Mulliner. Presented in Masons Black with maroon leather interior with darker red carpeting and beautiful veneer dashboard and door cappings.
It was the second most expensive car you could buy in Britain at the time. Chassis BC46BG has a documented history throughout and was sold new by Jack Barclay and first registered on 3 May 1957 to E Reade Ostler Esq from Canbrook, Kent. In 1967, the father of Mrs. Royce bought 721GUV from Rippon Brothers and they cherished it for over 50 years.
One of the best and most interesting Continental Fastback's in the world is looking for a new custodian, could this be you?
