Lovely engine bay

Restored some years ago but it could have been yesterday

Regularly maintained, on the button, and ready to set off for France

The Austin Healey 3000 became one of the best-known British classic cars of the 1950s and 1960s following spectacular success in international rallying and circuit racing. A development of the Austin Healey 100-6, itself born of the four-cylinder 100, the 3000 was launched in March 1959 and was a significant improvement on the earlier cars featuring front disc brakes, wire wheels as standard and a more powerful (124bhp) 2,912cc BMC C-Series engine, ensuring a top speed of approximately 120mph. There was also a choice of 2-seater (BN7) or 2+2 (BT7) body styles. The Mark II was introduced in March 1961 with a higher performance camshaft and, initially, a trio of SU HS4 carburettors.

Offered from a small private collection, this particular left-hand drive Healey 3000 Mk.II BT7 was imported to the UK from the United States and registered with the DVLA in October 2015. The car was reportedly restored in the early 2000s but its condition is such that it could have been yesterday. This Big Healey is finished in Old English White with an attractive red leather interior piped in white and sits on chrome wire wheels. Under our vendor's stewardship the car has been annually MoT tested at Hughes International and in 2015 was the recipient of a carburettor strip down and rebuild, replacement front steering mounts, new choke cable, and a new fuel pump.

The Healey is supplied with a UK V5c, an Austin Healey Driver’s Manual, a parts book, and some old MoT Certificates. The history file is unfortunately not present, however, you can see from simply viewing this car that it's in fine fettle and outstanding condition. At today’s very sensible guide price this classic Healey would make a wonderful European touring companion.
