The Austin-Healey 100 emerged from Donald Healey's quest for a spirited yet affordable sports car, blending British pragmatism with Italian-inspired elegance. Utilizing Austin A90 components, including engine, transmission, and suspension, Healey partnered with body designer Gerry Coker to shape a car that would captivate American buyers. Coker's design, influenced by his affinity for Italian aesthetics, resulted in a sleek two-seater. Initially priced at £850, the car debuted as the "Austin-Healey" after Austin Motor Company took over production, lowering the price to £750. The Austin-Healey 100 quickly garnered acclaim for its handling prowess and stylish appeal, setting a benchmark in growing the sports car market of the 1950s.

This 1954 Austin-Healey 100 completed production on 20 January 1954 and was then delivered new to a U.S. Serviceman stationed in Belgium through Sogid Autos of Brussels. It was specified in Carmine Red, complemented by Black upholstery and distinctive wire wheels. It was equipped with a "kph" speedometer, heater, and two SU type H4 carburetors, all of which is documented and confirmed by the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate.

In recent years, the Healey has been treated to a comprehensive restoration, transforming it into its period-correct presentation reminiscent of the 1950s rallying scene. Virtually every component of this Healey underwent refurbishment, from its chassis and drivetrain to the meticulously crafted paintwork and tailored cabin appointments. Enhancements such as the Le Mans-style hood strap, Lucas LR6 long range driving lamps, and 72-spoke black wire wheels with correct Pirelli CA67 tires add to its sporting allure. Originality and functionality converge with the presence of the accompanying restored bumpers, valence, and smooth bonnet, complemented by a comprehensive tool kit, spare tire, and emergency tools. Practicalities have not been overlooked, with included weather equipment comprising side curtains, a top, and a full-cab tonneau cover, ensuring comfort and versatility regardless of weather conditions. The addition of a Brantz Rallymeter, electric overdrive, and Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens (FIVA) ID Card further underscores its intended use in competitive vintage rallies and touring events. Notably, the Healey appeared on the 2020 Colorado Grand and is eligible for many other prestigious vintage rallies, including the California Mille. Today, this 1954 Austin-Healey 100 appears more than capable of gracing concours lawns or tackling challenging rally routes; whatever your preferred flavor of motoring enjoyment, a Healey 100 offers a stylish and exhilarating British roadster experience.
