The standard output of 333 HP is of course already sufficient to merge in, but ABT is a very tasty cherry on the S5 cake. In Kempten im Allgau they pushed the S towards 435 HP and 520 Nm of torque. Das Audi S5 Cabrio. Ein Auto, in das wir uns mit gemischten Gefühlen setzten; denn wo war der wunderbare, bisher bekannte 4.2 FSI V8 geblieben? Nachdem wir die Motorhaube geöffnet und nachgezählt hatten, landeten wir bei sechs Zylindern. Und das, das war ein Knaller. Zum Glück hatten wir nach den ersten 5 Minuten Fahrzeit unsere Enttäuschung schon wieder vergessen. Wir ertappten uns sogar beim Kichern, was eigentlich nur bei lächerlich schnellen Autos herauskommt. Der S5 ABT ist ja auch so einer.

Der V6 mit Booster holt sehr schnell von unten auf, der quattro gibt viel Vertrauen und lässt einen sogar manchmal wackeln. Wenn man sich traut. Die Serienleistung von 333 PS reicht natürlich schon aus, um sich einzugliedern, aber ABT ist ein sehr leckeres Sahnehäubchen auf der S5-Torte. In Kempten im Allgäu haben sie den S auf 435 PS und 520 Nm Drehmoment gebracht. Und das ist, gelinde gesagt, fan-tastisch! Motorhaube auf, Knopf dynamisch an und Schalthebel in Position M. Damit wird jeder Gangwechsel zum Genuss. BRAAAP!
