REMARKABLE PROVENANCE & OWNERSHIP HISTORY.In the mid-1980s Aston Martin created some of the most memorable sports cars of the era. With stiff opposition from competitors, the answer to securing our supercar credentials was to extract even more power from the already potent 5.3-litre V8 engine.At the British Motor Show of 1986 Aston Martin unveiled an unequivocal answer to its challengers in the sumptuous shape of the new, more powerful, V8 Vantage X-Pack. It was immediately desirable by virtue not only of its extra brake horsepower up around 30 bhp over the 'standard' V8 Vantage of the day but also thanks to its uprated suspension and important styling revisions, the V8 Vantage X-Pack became a car that enthusiast buyers would wait years to own. With a little under 140 examples hand-made here at our Newport Pagnell site - the firm's then factory and headquarters this example is made even rarer by its remarkable provenance and the immaculate original condition.This beautifully specified V8 Vantage X-Pack was owned by the then Chairman of Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd, Victor Gauntlett. It later went into the collection of a second Aston Martin luminary and, today, represents one of the marque's most significant cars from that era.
