Beschreibung

An evolution of the famed Aston Martin DB5, the DB6 was announced at the London Motor Show in October 1965 and featured a number of distinct styling changes.

Aston Martin’s designers and engineers attempted to improve comfort and practicality over the DB5 while also maintaining the performance that Aston Martin’s clients had become accustomed to.

The chassis was stretched by 3.75 inches, and the rear axle was relocated in order to create additional cabin space for two rear seats.

Despite those modifications, the DB6 only weighed 18 pounds more than the DB5 and was able to retain the DB5’s performance, just as Aston Martin had promised.

The ZF 5 speed gearbox keeping the 282 Ps 4.0 litre straight-six at the right RPM. In other words this translates to an absolute joyful driving experience. It was considered a seriously fast car, an absolute benchmark car. As far as that is concerned, after 50 years not much has changed; the Aston Martin DB6 still gives the kind of performance modern cars simply cannot match.

In total, just 1,788 DB6s were manufactured during the model’s 1965 to 1971 production window.

An original right hand drive example. Delivered new by famed H.R. Owens Ltd of London to Mr. W. Quint on March 17th 1969.

Chassis Number DB6/3526/R
Engine Number 400/3596
Gearbox Number SS/325/2739 (ZF 5 Speed Manual)

This 1969 Aston Martin DB6 (one of the last Series I) is an iconic British grand tourer, in its extremely RARE colour of Aquamarine (one repaint since new) which is combined with the, beautifully superb ORIGINAL complementing Red Connolly Vaumol leather interior and Red carpeting. An original right hand drive example. Delivered new by famed H.R. Owens Ltd of London to Mr. W. Quint on March 17th 1969.

Mr. Quint covered 13,571 miles prior to selling it to its long term owner Dr. Lloyd Jones on May 11th 1977.

The DB6 under Dr Llyoyd Jones tenure was used sparingly and has been well maintained. Today has 33,278 miles on the odometer. All of which is extremely well documented. Making this one of the lowest original mileage DB6 in the world.

CONDITION EXTERIOR

The car’s bodywork presents superbly. The paint has a beautiful deep shine and the body is in a wonderful condition. The original chrome still shines as new, all of the exterior trim is in very good order, as are the window surroundings, the door handles, bumpers etc. etc.

Further the bottom of the car is exceptionally clean and original, shows the care to which this vehicle has had during its lifetime

CONDITION INTERIOR

The interior of the Aston is perfection in our opinion. Both the colour and the fact it is the original 55 year old red leather suits the exterior colour of the car exceptionally well.

The gauges and switches are in fantastic condition, as is the wood-rimmed steering wheel.

The only modification on the car is the original radio has been rebuilt and while appearing original it has had an upgrade to bluetooth (exceptionally discreet)

Following a recent and comprehensive inspection and maintenance, this example now presents in magnificent condition throughout, and would make a fine addition to any collection.
