Description

Sydney Allard and Allard cars are one of England’s best kept secrets when it comes to racing. 3rd place in the 1950 Le Mans, followed by an outright win, beating Sir Stirling Moss on the 1952 Monte Carlo Rally!
The Allard Motor Company founded in 1945 In Clapham, featured large American V8 engines in a light British built chassis and was precursor to cars such as the AC Cobra, Jensen CV8 and Sunbeam Tiger.
The Allard M series cars were in period a popular and successful rally car achieving a 4th place in the 1948 Monte Carlo Rally. 500 of these distinctive cars were built with an estimated 93 cars known to exist today.
JOF560 was restored in the USA for Pebble Beach, and it is understood that it achieved a concours win. The car came back to the UK and the present owner purchased the car in 2014 and undertook a detailed and thorough mechanical restoration, which included a total engine rebuild by Just Historic Cars.
JOF560 features the desirable Offenhauser aluminium heads together with period triple carburetor’s, giving JOF560 a significant power and performance lift over standard.
This Allard is in outstanding condition and offers incredible value with the asking price being a fraction of the restoration cost.
