It is not easy to purchase a really nice Alfa Romeo GTV. But we did it again. Not a concours winner, but a very honest, neat and very well maintained GTV 2.0 from the second series and built in 1985. Neat paint and an excellent interior, where it always seems as if the fabric cannot wear out, it always looks so beautiful. Or maybe we only watch the most beautiful GTVs. That’s probably it…

Originally from Italy, the Grigio Nube (the most beautiful color according to many) GTV came to the Netherlands in 2008, and stayed here with the only Dutch owner until we were recently able to purchase the car. The owner had invested heavily in those more than 15 years to continue to properly maintain the car and improve it where necessary. All invoices (over € 10.000,=) are present, as well as the original instruction and maintenance booklets. Also present are valuation reports, the most recent of which mentions a value of € 19.000,= So our price of € 15.500,= is very reasonable.

It is known to many that we like this type of Alfa Romeo and often for its 6-cylinder version. But to be honest, the version with the 4-cylinder engine is actually better balanced. This means that the car steers and responds better, which is mainly due to the less weight in the nose of the very attractive bodywork. This does not compensate for much inferior performance than its heavier brother, because the 130 hp DOHC engine delivers sufficient power to the transaxle 5-speed gearbox, which forms a combination with the differential. In short, it is a well-balanced and very pleasant driving car of a timeless design. A, actually already, classic? Yes, but with modern usage options. Typical, but once used to it, also easy to drive, a very large trunk for holiday belongings, reliability, very good supply of parts necessary especially for maintenance and stable in value. But above all, a lot of driving fun for a nice money.

VERKOOPINFORMATIE
Het valt niet mee om een echt nette Alfa Romeo GTV te bemachtigen. Maar het is ons wel weer gelukt. Geen concourswinnaar, maar wel een heel eerlijke, nette en heel goed onderhouden GTV 2.0 van de tweede serie en bouwjaar 1985. Netjes in de lak en een prima interieur, waarvan het altijd lijkt of de stof niet kan slijten zo mooi ziet het er altijd uit. Of we kijken alleen naar de mooiste GTV’s. Dat zal het waarschijnlijk zijn..

Afkomstig uit Italië, kwam de Grigio Nube (de mooiste kleur volgens velen) GTV in 2008 in Nederland, en verbleef hier bij de enige Nederlandse eigenaar totdat wij de auto onlangs konden kopen. De eigenaar had in die ruim 15 jaar flink geïnvesteerd om de auto goed te blijven onderhouden en waar nodig te verbeteren. Alle facturen (à ruim € 10.000,=) zijn dan ook aanwezig evenals de originele instructie- en onderhoudsboekjes. Ook aanwezig zijn taxatierapporten, waarvan de meest recente een waarde vermeld van € 19.000,=, dus onze prijs van € 15.500,= is alleszins heel netjes te noemen.

Het is bij velen wel bekend dat we een zwak hebben voor dit type Alfa Romeo en vaak voor de 6-cilinder uitvoering ervan. Maar de eerlijkheid gebied ons te zeggen dat de versie met de 4- cilinder motor eigenlijk beter in balans is. Dat wil zeggen dat de auto beter stuurt en reageert, wat vooral te wijten is aan het mindere gewicht in de neus van de zeer fraaie carrosserie. Veel mindere prestaties dan zijn zwaardere broer staan hier ook niet tegenover, want de 130 pk leverende DOHC motor brengt voldoende power naar de transaxle 5- versnellingsbak die op zijn beurt weer een combinatie vormt met het differentieel. Kortom, het is een uitgebalanceerde en zeer prettig rijdende auto verpakt in een tijdloos design. Een, eigenlijk nu al, klassieker? Jazeker, maar dan wel met moderne gebruiksmogelijkheden. Typisch, maar eenmaal gewend, ook makkelijk rijdend, een zeer grote kofferbak voor de vakantiespullen, betrouwbaarheid, heel goede voorziening van vooral voor het onderhoud noodzakelijke onderdelen en waardevast. Maar vooral heel veel driving fun voor heel leuk geld.
