Beschreibung

The Giulietta Spider, which debuted at the 1956 Turin Salon, was a huge hit for Alfa Romeo, with its excellent sporting qualities and neat, elegant looks by Pininfarina. Its basic looks lasted for nearly a decade before it was replaced by the equally iconic Duetto Spyder. The combination of a high-revving engine, fine handling and excellent brakes made the Giulietta an outstanding driver's car, and it continued to win over the public. 1.3, 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 L variants were added, and in 1956 a high-performance version, the "Veloce" was launched. The Veloce had a double choke Weber carburettor, 90 hp and a top speed of 180 km/h.

This Veloce was delivered to New York when new and had been sitting in a garage in California since the 1970s.The car was discovered in 2014 and fully restored by a specialist in USA over a period of three years. The exterior has been repainted and the interior reupholstered, but the colour combination is as original. The Spider's style in Nero is stunning. The restoration has been carried out with an emphasis on originality, with engine matching, but the restoration has been carried out with daily use in mind, rather than being thoroughly/perfectly original. This is a car that needs to be driven out a lot after a long period of not seeing the light of day.
