Beschreibung
In the mid-1950s, enthusiasts who were considering purchasing a small, open sports car found themselves presented with a compelling new choice: Alfa Romeo’s Giulietta Spider. It featured gorgeous Pinin Farina styling, twin overhead-cam alloy engine, outstanding ride quality, and weather protection equal to that of more expensive sports cars. Today, Giulietta Spiders continue to offer great value and are some of the most engaging vintage sports cars at any price.
This handsome example is a desirable 750-series model, which features a shorter wheelbase, smaller taillights, and no vent windows. To dedicated Alfisti, these early production Spiders represent the purest, most sought-after iteration of this iconic Italian sports car.
This car is an original US-specification example, elegantly finished in white with black-piped red upholstery. The Spider resided with one owner in York, Pennsylvania, for much of its existence and, as a result, was preserved in largely original condition. The consignor, an enthusiast with a passion for 1950s European sports cars, recently entrusted the Spider to the award-winning specialists at Sargent Metal Works of Bradford, Vermont, for a high-quality repaint in the original color. Sympathetically restored, the Spider still possesses an unusual degree of originality, especially in the engine bay. The Giulietta revitalized Alfa Romeo’s practice of building lightweight, well-built sports cars and continued their rich legacy into the postwar era. This beautiful 750-series Spider is an excellent way to experience that tradition.
*Please note that this vehicle is registered 1958.
