The 6C 2500 was introduced in 1938 and was built until 1952.
In creating the 6C 2500, Alfa Romeo retained the 6C 2300’s independently sprung suspension while upgrading the engine, for a 2.5-litre displacement improving the cylinder head. For the car offered here, these improvements were combined with the more desirable Super Sport.
Built on 10 May 1949, this Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS, was sent to Pinin Farina and received their cabriolet body on a short-wheelbase chassis.
A certificate of origin was issued on 8 August and the car was registered on 5 September, delivered in Genova with licence plates “GE 46353”.
Ordered new by the famous Italian sugar company Eridania Zuccherifici Nazionali.
On 1957, Eridania sold the Alfa Romeo to Fidia S.R.L. of Genova who sold the car on 1971 to Mr Arnaldo Ginocchio, who sold the car in 1989 to Mondo VI SpA.
On 1995, Mr Ugo Isgrò purchased the car, but swiftly sold it to the previous owner the following year.
On 1997, the Registro Italiano Alfa Romeo (RIAR) inspected chassis and confirmed its certification.
In 1998, this car also received an ASI identity card.
In 2019 the previous owner decided to sold the car to the current owner – an esteemed collector.
This Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS is a well-preserved example, retaining its original interior, and has always remained in Italian ownership.
Today, it is still registered with its original Genova registration number.
