Beschreibung

The latest evolution of the 1900C: the Super Sprint.
One of only 39 examples made by Zagato
Aerodynamic aluminum bodywork by Zagato
Finished in two-tone that recalls the gray of the interior
Eligible for the Mille Miglia and other important events

This elegant example of the Alfa Romeo 1900C SS Berlinetta Zagato was completed on 11 June 1955, before being delivered to its first owner in Milan later that year.
As confirmed by the Certificate of Origin issued by Alfa Romeo Classiche in December 2019, it was originally finished in Rosso.

Like many other post-war high-performance sports cars, the car arrived in the United States of America and in 1961 was purchased by J.C. Edwards.

Subsequently it passed to Phillip Musser and, in the mid-1980s, it became part of the collection of Said Marouf, a famous collector of Alfa Romeos such as TZ, TZ 2 and BAT 5.

After a thorough restoration carried out by Nino and Paolo Epifani of Berkley California, the car took part in the 1990 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, where the car was awarded third in its class.

In 2001, after covering just 2,000km, this 1900C SS Zagato was purchased by Paul F. Schouwenburg in Holland, who entered it in numerous European events including the Villa D'Este elegance contest.

In 2006 the car made another trip overseas, becoming part of the collection of John D'Alessandro of Southampton.

In 2007 D'Alessandro entered the car in the Mille Miglia Storica, with the race number 304.

In August 2009, this car passed to its last owner in America, one of the largest collectors in the world, so that his collection was ranked third worldwide.

Today, the 1900C SSZ represents the collaboration between two Italian automotive icons and is one of the most sought-after cars.

As one of only 39 examples built, incorporating Carrozzeria Zagato's lightweight design and Alfa Romeo's racing pedigree, the 1900C SSZ is a must-have for the discerning collector.
