This model belongs to the second “H1A” series, manufactured from 1970 onwards. Kawasaki condensed all the small improvements made to the model over the production of the first 20,000 units into this bike, limiting the changes to the new tank without knee indentations and the different bodywork colours and graphics. A version with front drum brake and CDI ignition was put into production for the American market only. It received recognition as the fastest bike in the world in terms of acceleration, with its 500 cc 60 hp engine.
