The GPZ 750 Turbo version was produced by Kawasaki from late 1983 until 1985 in two different models, the E1 (1984) and the E2 (1985). The differences between the two models were minimal. The bike was produced in Japan and the US, and assembled in the States. The performance of the GPZ 750 Turbo was very similar to that of the GPZ 1100, with a quarter mile time of 11.2 seconds and a top speed of 201 km/h. The bike was therefore named as the fastest in the world by various magazines at the time. As it was a factory turbo, and not a custom after-market modification, the performance of the GPZ 750 Turbo made it the “best factory turbo” ever produced by the Japanese manufacturer.
