In 1855, Bianchi was founded by Edoardo Bianchi, and the first motor bicycle was born in 1902 under the name of ‘Motocicletto’ and was the first in a very long series of motorbikes that contributed to writing glorious pages of Italian motoring, at both sporting and commercial level. At the end of the Second World War, the desire for recovery had to come to terms with the difficult general economic situation, and the vehicles on offer had to have well-defined characteristics: they had to be economical and reliable. Bianchi was not long in coming and, in 1947, presented the Stelvio 250, with lines similar to the multi-winner Freccia d'Oro 250 of the pre-war era. The 250cc single-cylinder 4-stroke engine with 4-speed gearbox was housed in an open cradle frame, with a telescopic fork at the front and a pair of telescopic shock absorbers at the rear. Very well preserved, documented and in working order. A general mechanical check is recommended before use.
