Description

BMW M5 E39 FROM 1999. VEHICLE WITH SERVICE BOOK.EXTERIOR IN THE BEAUTIFUL AVUS BLUE METALLIC AND INTERIOR COMBINED IN ANTHRACITE AND GREY LEATHER, THE MOLDINGS ARE IN METAL. THIS SPECIFIC UNIT WAS IMPORTED FROM GERMANY TO SPAIN IN 2006 AND IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. THE BMW M5 E39 IS THE SUPERBERLINA OF THE BEGINNING OF THE MILLENNIUM, To put the M5 E39 in context we need to take a look at the 1999 eCoty. The M5 was pitted against twelve of the fastest cars of the day and only came in behind the Porsche 911 GT3, Ferrari 360 Modena and Subaru Impreza RB5, though ahead of the tremendous Nissan GT-R R34. Introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1998, production began at the end of October of the same year. A total of 20,482 units were made between 1998 and 2003. It has a heavily modified 4941 cm³ (4.9 liter) S62 B50 naturally aspirated V8 engine, which was based on the M62 engine. It delivers 400 hp (395 HP; 294 kW) at 6600 rpm and was equipped with the BI-VANOS system, which varies the behavior of the intake and exhaust camshafts; in addition to individual throttle butterflies for each cylinder, allowing a much higher engine response time.
The transmission is a 6-speed manual, the clutch was beefed up and the rear differential used a shorter 3.15:1 ratio and was slip-limited to a maximum of 25% lock. It was almost not built at all, because BMW believed the 286 hp (282 HP; 210 kW) 540i was powerful enough, but when Jaguar showed the 322 hp (318 HP; 237 kW) XJR-S and Mercedes-Benz the 354 hp (349 HP; 260 kW) E55, BMW answered the competition with its 400 hp (395 HP; 294 kW).In 1998 it became the fastest sedan in the world. The first Euro spec version had 408 hp (402 HP; 300 kW). The top speed was the key, as it was capable of 298 km/h (185 mph) if the limiter was removed. BMW M5 (E39). Technical data V8 engine, 4,941 cc Power 400 hp at 6,600 rpm Torque 500 Nm at 3,800 rpm Weight 1,795 kg Power-to-weight ratio 4.49 kg/hp 0-100 km/h 5.3 seconds Top speed 250 km/h (limited). One of the best sedans ever built, with an impeccable manual gearbox and a superdeprtivo sensations, today is one of the future classics with higher revaluation, a myth among the sedans.
