Move over Mercedes, there’s a new six wheeler in town!

This unique 1986 Fiat Panda Koch Klassik six-wheeler is exactly the kind of weird and wonderful ride we love here at Classic Driver, and now it’s looking for a new custodian.

There’s something about six-wheeled vehicles that tickles a very primitive part of our brains. Cars like the Tyrrell P34 F1 racer and the Mercedes G63 6X6 didn’t just gain an extra wheel, but an elevated status above all other four wheeled automobiles. However, if we could live out the rest of our days with just one hexapod, it would be this 1986 Fiat Panda KK six-wheeler for sale with Koch Klassik.

Originally conceived by Horst Koch of Koch Klassik in the 1980s when he was still an authorised dealer in for Fiat, Lancia, and Ferrari, this six-wheeled Panda was originally intended to have a small production run. Unfortunately, Koch’s partner for this project died, but that didn’t stop him from building this endearing one-off. Fully developed in-house in Koch’s workshop, Linda Kock describes the plucky all-terrain vehicle as “A small-format Mercedes-Benz G model”, and we think she hit the nail on the head.

Powered by a 70hp four-cylinder, the KK six-wheeler retains the front wheel drive layout of a regular panda, but gains massive amounts of practicality thanks to the extra-long flatbed afforded by the additional axle. Aside from the extra pair of wheels, one should note the fetching in-house KK rims from the 1980s, the removable plexiglass roof, and the custom stainless steel exhaust, which provides a pretty rowdy soundtrack. Currently showing 21,211 miles on the clock, this recently restored Panda is ready for any adventure you throw at it. As the Panda continues to gain favour among enthusiasts worldwide, we can’t think of a better way of joining in the action than by adding this KK six-wheeler to your collection.
