Si tratta dell’ultima evoluzione della berlina torinese che ha cambiato le sorti del marchio, anticipando la tecnologia delle automobili che sarebbero nate da lì agli anni 60, grazie alle ruote indipendenti, all’attenzione per l’aerodinamica, per lo spazio interno ed alla testa emisferica dei cilindri, unite a tante piccole innovazioni, DNA del marchio Lancia, quella vera, quella di Vincenzo Lancia che vide nascere la sua ultima creazione, l’Aprilia per l’appunto, prima di scomparire prematuramente nel 1937.

Il 16 Aprile 1949 venne immatricolato a Firenze questo esemplare di Aprilia II serie, tra le ultime costruite, acquistato presso la concessionaria ufficiale Lancia locale, da parte del signor Giovanni Ginori Conti. Dopo due anni, l’auto passò a Empoli per poi essere immatricolata Ragusa, il 16 Ottobre 1954, con la targa che ancora oggi conserva, nelle mani di un primo proprietario siciliano che l’ha custodita fino al 1976. Un ulteriore proprietario fino al 1981, uno per 30 anni, fino al 2011 e due proprietari fino al 2016 quando l’auto è stata acquistata dal precedente proprietario.

Il classico abbinamento Bleu Lancia con interni in panno grigio compare già nell’omologazione ASI con classificazione A del 1992, quindi si presume sia quello di primo equipaggiamento. Dall’estratto cronologico si è potuta verificare la corrispondenza del numero di telaio con il motore di primo equipaggiamento tutt’ora montato.

L’attuale proprietario ha acquisito l’auto già in ottime condizioni, probabilmente a seguito di un restauro di ottimo livello eseguito dai precedenti proprietari che hanno utilizzato l’auto per eventi e manifestazioni di regolarità: l’auto è stata rinfrescata in funzione della partecipazione a due edizioni del Gran Premio Nuvolari (2017 e 2018) ed una 1000 Miglia (nel 2017). L’auto compare inoltre nell’ultimo film “Ferrari” diretto da Michael Mann.

This is the latest evolution of the Turin sedan that changed the fate of the brand, anticipating the technology of the cars that would be born from there to the 1960s, thanks to the independent wheels, the attention to aerodynamics, the internal space and the hemispherical cylinder head, combined with many little innovations, DNA of the Lancia brand, the real one, that of Vincenzo Lancia who saw the birth of his last creation, the Aprilia, before dying prematurely in 1937.

On 16 April 1949, this example of Lancia Aprilia II series, one of the last built, was registered in Florence and purchased from the official local Lancia dealership by Mr. Giovanni Ginori Conti. After two years, the car passed to Empoli and was then registered Ragusa, on 16 October 1954, with the license plate that it still retains today, in the hands of a first Sicilian owner who kept it until 1976. A further owner until 1981, one for 30 years, until 2011 and two owners until 2016 when the car was purchased by the previous owner.

The classic Lancia Blue combination with gray cloth interior already appears in the 1992 ASI approval with A classification, so it is presumed to be the original colour combination. From the chronological extract it was possible to verify that the original equipment engine is still mounted.

The current owner acquired the car already in excellent condition, probably following a good restoration carried out by the previous owners who used the car for events and regularity races: the car was refreshed in order to take part to two editions of the Gran Premio Nuvolari (2017 and 2018) and a 1000 Miglia (in 2017). The car also appeared in the last movie "Ferrari" directed by Michael Mann.
