Description

Rolex 'James Bond' BIG-CROWN, reference No. 6538

Very charming and rare watch

A revolutionary and truly iconic model, the Rolex SUBMARINER James Bond, reference 6538, is so called because it was worn by Sean Connery in the 007 films.
Originating in 1956 with Rolex's ambitious drive to create a water-resistant watch up to a depth of 200 m

Perfectly intact watch, from the large 'Brevet' crown (a true peculiarity of this model), the bezel insert characterised by the 'Big Triangle' (now faded), which miraculously escaped replacement during servicings, to the legendary white 'Lollipop' hand which has never been re-varnished and the original band dating to 1957

It can be deduced from the case numbers that the watch was made in 1956 and subsequently went to market in 1957, as reported on the band.
