*Reference 6241 in 18k yellow gold was produced in approximately 700 pieces between 1966 and 1969. and according to our research about only 10% feature an exotic dial. These exotic dials on the gold versions exist with writing in the sub-dials being either gold or white. Unlike the 14kt version, the 18kt 0.750 yellow gold version shows the Swiss hallmark «Helvetia ». Research indicates that about 2000 examples were made in stainless steel, 300 in 18K yellow gold and 400 in gold 14 carats. This model which is the evolution of the reference 6239 with a black epoxy tachymeter bezel displays the 722 or 722/1 caliber. The case on its side has been redesigned, slightly wider at the crown allowing the owner a better handling. Reference 6241 was the first reference to include the inscription «Daytona» on the dial. This model presented for auction dated 1968 offers a case with sharp lugs, a beautifully patinated handsome dial. In addition it is accompanied by a whole series of documents of time signed WEMPE and BUCHERER. the present example is in lovely well-preserved condition and with its Paul Newman configuration, it will be a watch all collectors want, but few will own.
