One of the most pre-eminent pieces of advice for any racing team looking to add performance is to make a vehicle as light as possible. Porsche has long invested in this mindset, having released numerous examples of special, lightweight variants of their cars. Unfortunately, due to differing emissions and safety standards, the US market tended to get left out of the most extreme models. The 964-generation 911 Carrera RS was no different. In an effort to appease American buyers, the company produced the 911 RS America, a special edition released only in the USA.

While the European RS offered special engine and transmission tuning, the RS America stuck with the 964 Carrera 2's 250hp and standard transmission gearing. However, the car featured the M030 sport suspension and eschewed roughly 70-90 pounds of equipment including power steering, air conditioning (an option), a sunroof (also optional), rear-seats, the power spoiler (swapped for a fixed "whale-tail" exclusive to the model) and reduced sound deadening. The result was a car that, while not as hardcore as the European model, rewarded its driver with neutral handling and brisk acceleration. While the RS America was actually sold at a discount to the regular model, the low production and focused performance have made it quite desirable to enthusiasts and investors alike - and is, therefore, a superb choice for any portfolio.

One of only 701 produced, our exceptional 1993 Porsche 911 RS America Coupe is offered in eye-catching Guards Red over Black cloth. Unlike the standard 911 or upmarket Turbo, RS Americas were only offered with a small handful of options. Of the four standard production options offered, this car has the two that most improve its driving experience: air conditioning and a limited-slip differential. With only 28,679 miles since new, this exceptional automobile is ready for its next caretaker. As any discerning investor, collector, or enthusiast knows, the rarer and more notable something is, the more desirable it becomes. The 911 RS America perfectly fits the bill, and this particular example's low miles and impressive condition make it the perfect Porsche for any collector, investor, or enthusiast!
