The 1929 Packard 6th Series Deluxe Eights were among the most attractive and imposing of the Classic Era Packards, with long bonnets, sweeping wings, and large oval headlights. The powerful straight-eight engine displaced 385 cubic inches and was rated at 105 horsepower at 3,200 rpm. With seven main bearings and a rigid, one-piece cylinder block casting, it was both quiet and powerful.

The Packard offered here is a beautifully restored example of the 374 sedan body style. Built on the 145.5-inch wheelbase 645 chassis, it is attractively finished in dark maroon and black with black wings. It is fitted with solid wheels, black wall tyres, rear jump seats, a Tropic-Aire heater, dual side mounts, and an original Packard trunk rack. The car further benefits from two six-volt batteries mounted in series, and a fully functional central lubrication system that can be operated from behind the wheel. The inviting, luxurious interior is beautifully presented, fitted with the proper wool broadcloth and highly decorated with elaborate wood trim displaying idyllic romantic scenes in marquetry and a rear seat vanity with clock.

Included with the sale is a selection of documents which confirm the provenance of the automobile. Though exact production figures are not known, the Deluxe Eight 645 sedan is an uncommon Classic Era Packard, making this an important opportunity for a dedicated enthusiast to add a superb Packard to their collection.
