Description
"Powered by the uprated 4.2 litre engine, compared to the 3.8 litre unit fitted to the previous model, the Series II E-Type offers longer legs for those continental drivers as well as offering a more practical sports car experience. Those classic E-Type styling cues though, are still very much present with that most beautiful of bonnet lines extending all the way back, taking in the fixedhead cockpit and ending in the beautifully curved rear end. Interestingly, the DNA from Sir William Lyons only extended to about 1,000 units of this model making it a rare iteration of this particular E-Type Jaguar.
This stunning example is presented in brilliant red coachwork and has been privately owned and cherished by our vendor for 29 years. Dispatched to America, where it remained until it was repatriated our vendors father purchased the car in 1994 as an example that in 1992 had been subject to a full engine rebuild at 74,767 miles, our vendor followed this by commissioning a full bare metal repaint in 1994 which is fully documented with a photo album and found in the history file. Always garaged when not used and only used on dry days, this example presented excellently. Supplied with a very good history file, this is all one could wish for in an E-Type Coupé with the right balance of restoration, maintenance and use which would provide confidence for any new owner for years to come. Offered with an MoT certificate valid until 6th November 2024."
