After the birth of the Fiat 600, an icon of Italy's economic boom yet a popular car, there was a need for more premium versions. Vignale decided it made sense to think of a luxury version of the Turin-based hatchback. Produced from 1955 to 1959, using the mechanical base of the Fiat 600, the Rendez-Vous was a truly exclusive model. There are no certain figures on the number of cars produced, fewer than 200 are mentioned and only an estimated 20 still exist.

The aesthetics of the cars, designed by Michelotti, were inspired by the stunning Lancias of the 1950s with an incredible transformation from the aesthetics of the original car. It is easy to find reminiscences of the Lancia Aurelia in the lines of the car, both at the front (with the large front mouth) and at the rear with the vertical headlights and the tail extending into the third volume with a curved line. The car could be embellished with elegant spoke wheels, while for many examples the two-tone livery was chosen, in particular the silver finish of the upper part of the car. The engine of the 600 was equipped with the Abarth kit with a displacement increased to 747 cc and a power output of more than 40 hp that gave the car a fair amount of punch. The interior, present in different configurations, could accommodate, at the customer's discretion, the instrumentation of the basic 600 (present in most of the models encountered) or adopt customised elements.

The model we present to you arrived in excellent overall condition, restored over 15 years ago with slight aesthetic imperfections of the time, perfectly usable immediately.
Mechanics in perfect working order and upholstery in perfect condition, little use lately. As rare as it is beautiful, the small hand-crafted coupé with its all-Italian charm is just waiting to be put on the road, suitable for the most prestigious concours d'elegance catwalks. ASI registered.
