Description
Behold, a 59,000 mile, 5 owner Range Rover Classic in fantastic condition throughout and a meaty 4.5L engine conversion.
Finished in Caspian Blue, a stunning colour for a classic Range Rover, the bodywork on this Vogue SE is in truly splendid condition that defies its age, finished with contrasting pin striped coach lines. Unlike many classic Range Rovers haunted by serious corrosion, this UK supplied example has remained well looked after and has avoided falling into disrepair.
The paintwork on this car is excellent and all the aluminium panels remain straight. As standard on the Vogue SE, the alloy wheels on the vehicle are colour-keyed to match the exterior paintwork. The Pirelli Scorpion tyres are only a couple of years old and have only covered 3,800 miles.
Opening the door to this Range Rover reveals the lavish Winchester Grey leather upholstery and Burr Walnut trim. This hard dash model retains its classic appeal that can get lost in the very last soft dash examples. The interior still remains fresh with a whole host of luxury gadgets normally found on today's modern cars.
The headlining, prone to sagging on Classic Range Rovers, is still in perfect condition. All the seats remain soft and supple with no signs of any rips or tears. What's more, the front seat backs and door cards are entirely scuff-free.
Lowering the tailgate reveals a near immaculate luggage area with all the carpet in ‘as new' condition. Tucked away neatly behind the carpeted side curtain, the tool kit can still be found.
The V8 engine fires into life with a purposeful roar and an equally loud fan to keep temperatures under control. The 4.5 litre Rover engine was a popular conversion for Range Rovers of the 1980s as an increasing number were purchased more as roomy saloon cars than for their abilities over rough terrain. Many drivers, therefore, were looking for extra performance on roads than was provided by the standard engines.
The diff and 4x4 system all work as they should although given the condition of the vehicle have probably seen very little use. The four-speed automatic gearbox operates well and handles the engine's power admirably through the gears.
This Range Rover has covered just 59,128 miles since it was first registered to a Mr Jones on 29th August 1989.
This example retains its original hardback document wallet, complete with the Range Rover hand book and original ‘Land Rover Assured Warranty Validation Certificate', as provided from new. Present also are the operating instructions for the alarm system as well as the radio/cassette player.
The original service book features 14 stamps and is complemented by a selection of the most recent MOT certificates. In September 2022 the car was fully serviced (including gearbox) as well as new body mounts, new alternator and a new starter motor.
