Bentley special number One
The B Special No.1 is our tribute to the racing history of the Bentley Speed Six, which has been immortalized in automotive history by Bentley motors.
The first car currently known as the 'Old Number One' debuted as a factory racing car in May 1929 for the very first so-called Brooklands Double Twelve. While the bodywork was changed to a 'fish tail design', the car continued to race as normal in October of that year. Until the disastrous crash in 1932, which killed driver Clive Dunfee, completely destroyed the car.

Despite the car being badly damaged, the chassis was redesigned by Woolf Barnato with a Mulliner Fixed Head Coupe body, but this body was subsequently removed in 1957 and a replica two-seater body of the original 1930 design was reinstalled on the chassis.
Our recreation of this beautiful car from the 1920s is built on the strong foundation of the Bentley Mk6 chassis from the years 1946 to 1955, and is motorized with the Bentley 6-cylinder inline engine.

The body consists of an aluminum fishtail body on a frame of ash and aluminum trusses. The bodywork is made entirely by hand. This is done on a 1-on-1 wooden mold, which is made with Bentley documents from the 1920s. The aluminum is then completely processed using the English wheel technique and finished according to the desired shape and size.

The English wheel is a type of rolling wheel that is used to roll a metal sheet into a certain round shape. An English wheel consists of a C-shaped bracket that has 1 opening. An English wheel is used for concave and convexity of thin sheet metal such as car sheet metal.

Even the characteristic 'nickel-plated' Bentley radiator jacket is completely hand-rolled and finished. The interior is finished with leather and the cockpit is equipped with a brushed aluminum dashboard with various 'reconstructed' instruments from that time.

To stay as close as possible to the original, the entire construction process is done as precisely as possible according to Bentley data from those years. For example, 3.6mm rivets are used, as opposed to the 4mm rivets used today. In addition, the adjustment of, for example, the carburettors and the engine is carried out with the utmost precision. All this to give you a driving experience as if you were transported back to the 1930s.

This specific Bentley Special number 1 is equipped with a special 'matted' light blue painted body, with a nod to the famous Bentley “Blue Bell” in combination with red painted 21” spoke rims, and with red leather upholstery and red interior trim.
