Temporary UK Import

Designed by the world-renowned Pininfarina, and built by Scaglietti, the Ferrari 308 GTB debuted in 1975, replacing the Dino 246. It featured a transverse, rear-mounted tipo F106 V-8 engine paired with a five-speed manual transaxle, offering significant power while balancing comfort for long-distance touring. Weight savings were thanks in part to its fiberglass, or vetroresina, body panels, which concealed the tubular steel chassis. Just 712 of the fiberglass-bodied examples are known to have been built before the transition to steel body panels circa 1977.

This Vetroresina, chassis 18909, is offered from the estate of influential Ferrari collector, historian, and author Jess Pourret, who was a co-founder of Club Ferrari France. It is a sought-after European-delivered example, and its transversemounted V-8 is thusly fitted with the desirable dry sump lubrication system.

Its most recent servicing was in 2017 by Modena Cars SA in Switzerland, as shown in an invoice on file, and the Ferrari showed just under 73,000 km at the time of cataloguing. Chassis 18909 is finished in its fabulous Rosso Corsa (Racing Red) over black leather specification. While likely needing mechanical refurbishment, this Vetroresina is one of the most desirable iterations of the 308 GTB.

*Please note that this vehicle has been in long-term static storage and may not be currently operational. It will require mechanical attention prior to road use.
