Just as the dust settles on the gruelling 2,000km adventure that was Tour Auto 2023, Peter Auto are already looking to Belgium for their next event in the calendar, and this one is a must for classic motorsport fans.
Regarded by so many as the ultimate test of both racer and machine, Spa Francorchamps may only have 20 turns in total, but with jam-packed grids and some of racing's finest drivers, there isn’t a huge amount of time to take in the sights, especially when there’s a class victory on the line.
Spa Classic will host a mouth-watering variety of classes over the two-day event, with two Heritage Touring Cup races - one run in daytime and the other at night - forming another set of challenges for the teams and drivers. On track, spectators can expect to see race cars from 1966 to 1984, including legends such as Alfa Romeo 1750 GTAMs, BMW 3.0 CSLs, Chevrolet Camaros, Ford Capris, and so much more!
While the saloon cars are likely to provide non-stop action, one of the races we are most looking forward to has to be the ‘The Greatest’s Trophy’, an incredible line-up of some of the world’s rarest and expensive race cars from the golden era of motorsport, including Ferrari 275 GTB/4s, Aston Martin DB4 GTs, not to mention countless Porsches and even a Bizzarrini or two!
While production cars have a special place in the Ardennes, the sports prototypes and GTs will certainly get their time to shine in the Belgian sun. From iconic prancing horses like the Ferrari 250 GT, to the fire-breathing Porsche 917 and Ford GT40, these were the cars that made history at this notoriously dangerous and unpredictable racetrack.
Only the bravest of drivers will push their historic racers through some of motorsport’s finest corners, including the la Source hairpin, and of course, Eau Rouge through to Raidillon. Not only a favourite for the drivers, spectator areas such as Blanchimont provide spectacular viewing points for the thousands of eager race fans that are expected to attend, with Peter Auto providing plenty of exhibitions and boutiques to help you get fully immersed in the action!
Spa Classic 2023 will take place from the 12th to 14th of May and is sure to be one of the most exciting events of the entire Peter Auto calendar. To find out the latest information, or to secure your tickets, head to Peter Auto’s website.
