Description
- Part of The Piccolo Collection
- Higher-performance Turismo Internazionale (T.I.) variant of the Giulietta Berlina
- Wears period modifications installed by Trivellato to race with Scuderia Bardahl
- Presented in Bianco Spino over black bucket seats with black and white houndstooth interior trim
Two years after the introduction of the four-door Giulietta Berlina at the Turin Motor Show in 1955, Alfa Romeo added a higher performance Turismo Internazionale (T.I.) version in 1957. The new model proved popular among enthusiasts who desired a practical saloon with sporting capabilities.
This example wears several period modifications, installed by the Trivellato company of Vincenza, Italy, in 1964, with the intention campaigning this car with Scuderia Bardahl. According to the accompanying Automotoclub Storico Italiano identity certificate, stiffer suspension was installed, as was a replacement transmission with floor shifter to comply with period racing regulations. Other modifications include a velocity stack air filter, sport bucket seats, dash-mounted tachometer, and wood-rimmed steering wheel. Period Alfa Romeo details abound, including houndstooth upholstery, Fergat wheels, and small Carello rear lights unique to the earlier cars.
With period early-Alfa Romeo charm combined with genuine sporting potential, this alluring Giulietta T.I. could be the ideal companion for historic racing and touring.
