The 1963 Chevrolet Corvette C2 is the real Stingray. The so-called split windows were no longer used on later model years. Early on, General Motors was adept at saving deemed unnecessary costs. This Corvette C2 Stingray Coupé was delivered new in the United States and later sold to an owner in Germany. He has restored the car Nut & Bolt and completely restored it to its former glory. The Corvette therefore looks beautiful. The work was carried out to a very high standard and the car is still in very good condition.
The body and frame have been completely separated from each other and handled separately. The frame has been fully checked and repainted. The base is therefore very solid and in top condition. The body has been repainted in its original color and looks beautiful. The paint was well painted at the time and the moldings and bumpers were also completely renewed. The car stands on the original steel wheels with matching hubcaps. The fits of the doors and hood are tight and the lighting is also in good condition.
The inside of the Corvette was completely renewed during the restoration with great eye for originality. However, that is not what catches the eye the most when you open the door. This Chevrolet Corvette comes with the beloved four-speed manual transmission. In addition, the car is also equipped with an original Chevrolet radio. The headliner and dashboard also look beautiful. The seats were reupholstered with original vinyl at the time and the carpets were also completely refitted. The result is a beautifully cared-for interior that looks as if the car left the factory only a few years ago.
The technique was completely overhauled during the restoration. The engine has been completely disassembled and runs perfectly. The 327 Cubic Inch V8 is mated to a four-speed manual transmission that has also been completely overhauled and shifts wonderfully precisely. The brakes and chassis were completely renewed during the restoration and function exactly as they should. While driving it is immediately noticeable that this Corvette has not had to give up any of its good driving characteristics and can still be labeled as a sporty car.
The work on the car is well documented through an extensive photo series. In addition, the car comes with the original manual and manual for the radio. Finally, there are still general papers about the life of the Corvette.
In short, a beautiful 1963 Chevrolet Corvette C2 with those lovely split windows and the much-loved manual transmission. The car is therefore both optically and technically in beautiful condition and is ready for many adventures: “out on the open road”.
