Description

Chrysler’s new-for-1929 Series 75 was positioned just below its Imperial model and while the marque established a well-deserved reputation for engineering innovation and luxury, the Series 75 validated the firm’s sporting mastery. Chrysler 75s participated in a number of European racing events in 1929, placing favorably at Le Mans, Mille Miglia, and 24 Hours of Spa.

Just over 6,400 Series 75 Roadsters were built, with this example coming from a driver-oriented collection where it was outfitted and maintained for regular touring use. In preparation for participation in the 2018 Mille Miglia, it benefited from a Gear Vendors overdrive unit and conversion to a 12-volt electrical system. Exterior enhancements include driving lights, hood straps, wind wings, and the absence of bumpers to reduce weight. Inside, additional gauges including a tachometer and ammeter were installed to monitor vital engine functions.

The striking orange paintwork for the body is complemented with brown fenders and running boards, with a tan top and brown upholstery. Blackwall tires, orange painted wire wheels with chrome knock-offs, and a rear-mounted spare tire complete the sporting visual presentation. This car’s completion of the Mille Miglia validates its touring prowess and, outfitted as presented, it makes for an ideal candidate for vintage driving events or personal touring while enjoying its top up or down.

*Please note that this vehicle is titled 1928.
