"The last word in progress" and "The most beautiful French car" at the top at the bottom of the page : this is how the spirit of the Supertraction was summarized in a 1939 advertisement. It must be admitted that with its elegant and taut lines, its American-inspired front end and dashboard, as well as the modernity of its front-wheel drive thanks to the engine and gearbox from the Citroën Traction, this Rosengart was very modern. Available only in coupé or cabriolet form, this is an unusual car in which Roger Sanlaville had taken a pioneering interest. He exchanged this car in 1971 with Henri Malartre, the creator of the famous automobile museum of La Rochetaillée, against a La Buire chassis! This beautiful cabriolet had been registered since 1969 in Essonne and featured a front end slightly different from the rest of the series production model with a lower grille opening, rectangular lights under the headlamps, and a "Deluxe" badge under the bonnet. The car was painted a while ago, the upholstery had also been redone matching with the colors chosen for the bodywork. Under the hood, a more modern manufacturer's plate has replaced the old one and the PVSC11 type engine bears the mention "renovated". The dashboard is completed with a plaque commemorating the 1975 Vichy Concours d'Elegance, water temperature and oil pressure gauges as well as a car radio housed in the glove box. On the blocks since the mid-1980s, this flamboyant cabriolet deserves a refurbishment that will bring it back to its former glory.
