Description

The 275 GTS was the replacement for the 250 GT Cabriolet and the 250 California Spyder models that had finished production in 1962 and 1963 respectively. Between 1964 and 1966, only 200 examples in total were built and only 19 of these were right-hand drive like the one we are offering here. The model was a favourite of many high profile car enthusiasts of the era, including Eric Clapton, Sophia Loren and Jayne Mansfield to name but a few.

Chassis #08007 is a very special example of the model and was in single ownership from 1976 to 2020. Following our purchase of the car in 2020, it was subsequently sent back to its motherland for restoration work to be carried out. Due to the car's originality and the rarity of unrestored examples in existence, a 'conservation restoration' was the remit with the original trim being retained and paintwork just touched up in areas needed. However, a complete mechanical restoration was carried out by legendary marque and model specialists Autofficina Sauro in Bologna. This work included but was not limited to the complete rebuild of the engine and gearbox, suspension and brakes, ensuring the car's reliability and safety whilst retaining the car's rare charm.

Whilst in Italy, the car was also awarded its Ferrari 'Red Book' Classiche certification which confirms it still retains its original chassis, body, engine and gearbox. In addition, the car is offered with an original tool roll (partially complete), a set of spare original alloys plus a very well documented history file.

A 275 GTS is one of the very best convertible Ferraris to drive, when you then consider their rarity, it's no surprise that they are one of the most sought-after Ferraris of the period.
