MODEL HISTORY
We present the Ferrari 575M Maranello - the successor to the Ferrari 550, which was first presented at the Geneva Motor Show 2002. The features that made the 575M Maranello unique were all referenced in its name. The '575' indicated that its effective displacement had been increased from 5500 to 5750 cc, leading to a subsequent increase in power and torque, which had long been the brand's main development goals.
In keeping with traditional Ferrari terminology, the 'M' stood for ‘modificata’, meaning that overall performance was increased. Apart from the work on the engine, this was also the very first time a F1 gearbox was used on a road-going Ferrari V12. Only around 2,000 Ferrari 575M Maranello ever left the factory in Italy, making it both rarer than its predecessor and its successor, the 599 GTB.
ABOUT THIS 575M
This particular Ferrari 575M has been completed in May 2002 by the Ferrari factory in Maranello and was delivered to its first owner in July 2002 by Garage Zenith Sion.
The most important aspect of this car is, that the first owner did order the Manual transmission, making this specific car one of just 246 575M built with a manual gearbox. The very small production number makes the Manual 575M one of the rarest modern Ferrari models which is equipped with a naturally aspirated V12 engine. Therefore, this model is highly sought after by contemporary car collectors.
From factory the car is finished in Rosso Corsa paintwork over a leather interior as a mix of Cuoio and Beige which back then was an EXTRACAMPIONARIO option meaning that it was specified to special request. Beginning of the early 2000s this kind of personalization was a lot rarer than today since most customers stuck to the standard options. Most recently the car has been serviced by B.I. Collection:
• 08/2023 at 46.711 km - B.I. Collection AG
• 01/2023 - 46.698 km - B.I. Collection AG
• 07/2022 - 46.679 km - B.I. Collection AG
Now totalizing 46.960 km from the, the 575M has been in the ownership of the last owner until August 2022 prior to being acquired by B.I. Collection AG forming a part of our own collection. This Ferrari checks all collectability boxes and is looking for a new caretaker with us in Zurich.
