Representing the very first cup bringing together strictly identical models, the D.B Monomill adventure marked an important step in the history of French motorsport. With the story starting in April 1954, the adventure ended in June 1955. Several Monomill enjoyed a second life in Formula Junior, with some changes.
Offered in an exceptional degree of authenticity, the car on offer is equipped with a front mask made of polyester glass laminate, the early models featured an aluminum front mask. It started its racing career at the Aix-les- Bains circuit on 6 June 1954 in the hands of Alexandre Dussert, who won the regional drivers' cup. He then entered the Grand Prix de Caen on the La Prairie circuit on 25 July. On 15 August the car competed in the Narbonne-Plage event in the hands of Jean Lucas. Resold by D.B in 1955, the car was raced in various events with its new owner Wladimir Brodsky. The car then became a part of the collection of Bernard Consten, from whom the previous owner acquired the D.B. in 2001. Its current owner, devoting himself to the VHC Rally, has not used the DB which has been serviced and stored since 2019. In its original condition, this car, whose engine has been recently rebuilt and will need to be run in, represents a moving testimony of a beautiful sporting epic.
