Description

"Mercedes-Benz first introduced an SL model in 1954 following an original idea by American importer, Max Hoffman who foresaw a market for a car tailored to affluent Americans in the booming post war United States. It has remained in production, in various guises and model years in the seven decades since then making the SL the second longest single series ever produced by the German manufacturer.
Registered in May 1981, we are informed this R107 series 500 SL has covered only 59,596 miles. Finished in Thistle Green metallic with a recently trimmed, contrasting beige leather interior, the black soft top is in good order and the car is complemented by a dark green factory hardtop. The standard features on this iconic Mercedes-Benz include limited slip differential, heated rear screen, electric windows and central locking. The optional extras added include rear seats, cruise control and the popular 14” Bundt style alloys. The comprehensive file that accompanied this car includes 29 previous MoT test certificates, various bills and receipts and an original service book with 11 dealer stamps. Presented to auction with a V5C registration document and a valid MoT test certificate, this classic Mercedes is ready to be enjoyed.
